181. On a windswept dune by the Eriskay beach, stands this cairn commemorating Bonnie Prince Charlie's landing on July 23, 1745.
Two hundred and fifty years later, the children in the school at Eriskay, South Uist erected this tribute.
182. Another cairn, this one in Inverie to applaud the seven men known as the Knoydart Raiders.
In 1948 the Knoydart Raiders attempted to claim part of the huge estate belonging to the then Second Baron Brocket. They were ruled against in Court. However, almost 50 years later the Knoydart Foundation, a consortium of local citizens, ecological foundations and others, bought the 17,500 acre estate to preserve it for the residents and visitors.
